Tour 1 - Emo 2 (finish C4th)

EMO2 15-1 BPF2
Starting a little slower than I had hoped we allowed them to get the first point. After a quick waking up and focus boost we brought out the game we had intended to start with. Using a combination of clever and safe offense and loads of pressure on D we kept punishing them for either turning over or us getting the blocks. Tried a bit of zone towards the end and this succeeded in slowing them down but still needed some work to get it water tight.
EMO2 15-7 Brown2
Another solid performance from EMO 2. Offense worked excellently against the wide arrow zone that the brown were using taking full advantage of quickly swinging the disk and using that long wide pass to get in behind the zone. Defense stepped up and really work hard to shut down their play making handlers. Although we started to lose some focus towards the end when it really counted a quick slap in the face and we soon got on with putting this game to bed.
EMO2 15-3 High Flyers
The last game of the day and unfortunately we didn't do ourselves proud. By letting the oppositions lesser abilities drop our game. Although we won we didn't make ourselves look like the well drilled team we should of. Especially with players taking it upon themselves to not bother with D because "they are just going to throw it away anyway". That is not the attitude we needed and caused some long draw out points. Defense needs to be super tight no matter who we are playing FACT. We didn't cause enough turn overs in this game to look like the team we all thought we should be. Offense was good in parts but again suffered from a lack of focus and a bit of an arrogant mentality of "well my receiver is better than anyone of them so I am just going to throw rubbish long"
Quarters EMO2 13-3 Abstract
Starting off in the cold midday we all thought this was going to be a tough game. Luckily abstract forgot to bring 7 fit players for the first half. So we went out hard on D playing lots of man with a deep if they had the wind and a poach in the lane when they were against the wind. This worked well with them only throwing long in the hope of gaining some yards if they got a block. Our offense to start with was perfect using the extra man and taking our time to move up the pitch calmly and quickly. Then for some reason all focus went out of the window and for a few points we just tried anything. After getting back to out calm game again we continued to put on the pressure. They gained there extra man at half and we went out knowing that we would now not get the left off that we had in the first half and well done to the whole team who continued to work effectively on offense and on D really shutting down all the players especially anything they tried to send long.
Semis EMO2 9-13 ABH2
Right semis time win this and we are in B tour out we went and really fought hard trading most of the first half. In the end they just took in 7-6 with a nice scored that i really wanted to get the layout block on, guess its more track for me then. Second half again we came out firing on all 12 cylinders and our Defense proved to keep use in the game unfortunately it was our offense that let use down. Once again we started to stop doing the things that were working and try some much more riskier stuff, like forcing it through the wall which gave them lots of easy blocks. All in all a disappointment in the end because we had show that we really had no difficulties playing around their zone we just let our heads go and stopped think for those crucial 4 points. We never gave up though and kept fighting making sure they had to work damm hard to get those last points.
GameToGo EMO2 11-13 GB Juniors
A great way to end the weekend with the snow coming in we fired ourselves up to really put into practice all the hard work of the weekend. Boy was it a game both side laying everything on the line for every point. To start they took a break and we did well to not let it phase us and get back in the game trading throughout the first half our D was really tough on them making them fight for every pass and after a little bit of a false start against their zone and some problems with our cutting we soon got into the swing of things, pun intended. The second half was to be move of the same with EMO getting some really nice flow around the pitch only to fall at the last pass maybe with the help of some flying juniors that just never seemed to stop wanting that disk. Also even though we were all tired and aching and cramping up we continued to pile on the pressure on D with the help of a sideline, which I have to say that game was the first time I have really felt it working and now I am converted a big encouraging sideline works FACT. In the end it came down to a few points that they scored more than us. I cannot fault any single bit of our game it was a pleasure to play in and I cant wait to bring that standard to tour 2 from the start.
