vs Clapham

We scored the first point. All downhill from there. They didn't do anything too clever, just out ran us. They won the final 15-5 against Chevy, so our 15-3 wasn't too embarrassing.

vs Dublin

Traded out the first few points 3-3, then the D line got one on the board and it was all over from then until 11-3, we just couldn't go wrong. They eventually scored again and our O line choked a little (a theme for the weekend), but we ran out convincing winners 14-9. Nasty layout grab from James Mead for the win. Oh, and Matt's huge ups for a sky over a guy about a foot taller than him.... sweet.

vs Ragnarok

Rag lost to Dublin in sudden death, so either a win or a narrow loss would put us in quarters. We started strong, getting a block and immediately hucking to Bobby for a quick goal. They got the break back shortly after, and we traded until 7-7. Freddie got a block but it came back on a cheap foul call, and they took half. This got to us a bit and they started taking a bit of a lead via a switch to straight up and some poaching. Meanwhile, they had worked out our D and were scoring easily. We got another break courtesy of a beautiful throw from me to Buddha for the easy grab*, and the game came down to effectively sudden death. 14-10, game point Ragnarok, but if we score one more goal then we're in quarters. We got the D, but couldn't move the disc and get stalled out. They punch it in for the win and we're left a little dejected, but know we've had a brilliant day.

* actually, it was an awful throw that Buddha had to make an insane layout grab for. Not only that, he did it while toeing the back line. Sick.

Sunday

vs Fire 2

Shaky start, broken first point and a few turns from our O line, but after being 2-1 down, we won 15-5 via some lovely long throws from Rich Gale, Buddha and Freddie. D line were rampant, moving the disc quickly and streaking deep for the score.

vs Munich

After our D line got us comfortably up, Munich started making more and more calls to keep them in the game. We also struggled against their zone. They scored 3 in a row to put them 13-12 up, game to 14. At this point, our O line make about 100 passes to calmly break down their zone, something we need to do more often. We ended up losing in sudden death, Buddha got a massive piece on the final assist but it bounced in the wind and landed in the lap of one of their players.

vs Inside Rakete

We were a bit flat and never got into this game. They had really excellent cutters and strong throwers, and pulled us apart. 15-8? We should learn from their ability to throw long, hard, flat passes into guts, despite the strong wind. Bobby even invited them to come and play with us!

I'm sure there were plenty of sick plays I've forgotten to mention. Amazing results from a young team, many who'd never played on Tour before.
